La Capital

The Complete Insider’s Street Food & Culture Walking Tour in Lima

La Capital is not just a tour — it’s a full-on sensory experience. We start our walk at the historic Gran Hotel Bolívar, an architectural landmark and symbol of Lima’s elegant past. From there, we dive into the lively streets of the Centro Histórico, discovering the grandeur of the Plaza Mayor and stepping into the impressive Cathedral of Lima. Just around the corner, we descend into the atmospheric Catacombs of San Francisco — mysterious, slightly spooky, and endlessly fascinating.

As we walk, we eat — the true language of Lima.

We will taste juicy, the beloved pan con chicharrón stuffed into fresh bread with sweet potato, and warm picarones covered in sticky chancaca syrup.

The route takes us through picturesque colonial streets and wooden balconies and suddenly  we find ourselves in a different rhythm entirely: Chinatown.

Calle Capón pulses with color, energy, and the unmistakable scent of wok-fried chifa. Here, we taste Peru’s fusion magic — a Chinese-Peruvian culinary tradition that gave birth to dishes like arroz chaufa and tender siu mais.

We finish on a sweet note, because every great journey deserves dessert — and a city like Lima always delivers. Along the way, your local guide will share stories, secrets, and cultural context that bring every moment (and every bite) to life.
