THE “NEW” LIMA

La Capital

A Refined walk through Lima’s classics, seen with a fresh perspective. Iconic sights, carefully chosen flavors, and the stories that connect them.

The New Lima is a thoughtfully designed walking tour that explores Lima’s historic center through its most emblematic places and flavors — balancing tradition, elegance, and a contemporary взгляд at the city.

We begin our walk at the historic Gran Hotel Bolívar, an architectural icon that sets the tone for the experience. From there, we move through the heart of the old city, stopping to enjoy pan con chicharrón, one of Lima’s most beloved traditional bites, prepared the way locals have enjoyed it for generations.

As we continue, the route leads us through a charming passageway linked to Peru’s maritime history, where we pause for a ceviche tasting in an intimate and atmospheric setting. Just moments later, we arrive at Plaza Mayor (Plaza de Armas), home to the Cathedral of Lima and the Presidential Palace, the symbolic core of the city.

From this privileged area, we stop at a beautiful corner of the historic center to discover pisco, Peru’s national spirit. Here, we enjoy a pisco tasting, learning about its history and cultural importance. Depending on the moment, guests may also get hands-on with the bartenders and prepare their own classic pisco sour.

The walk then shifts in rhythm as we head toward Calle Capón, Lima’s Chinatown, where carefully curated stops reveal the Chinese-Peruvian influence on Lima’s food culture — a key part of the city’s everyday identity.

We finish on a sweet note, often encountering traditional street sweets and convent-style desserts, before returning along Jirón de la Unión, one of Lima’s most iconic streets and long considered the commercial heart of the city.

Throughout the experience, your local guide shares stories, context, and insights that bring each stop — and each flavor — to life.
